The Catboat was the inspiration that boatbuilder Joseph Keveney drew upon when designing three of his models, built from 1936-1942 and on loan to the Cape Cod Maritime Museum! Exhibit also features the creations of other Catboat enthusiasts - including half hull models, photography, sculpture, a sailors’ valentine and oil paintings, including this one by local artist William R. Davis.

The Town of Barnstable’s Annual Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday, May 27, 2013. The parade will form at 9:30 am at the Centerville Library and kick off sharply at 10:00 am and proceed down Main Street to Monument Square for a brief program then up Old Stage Road to Beechwood Cemetery for the main program - Brigadier General Jimmy G. Dishner, USAF (Ret.). The parade will not reform but streets will remain blocked to allow safe foot traffic back to the Library.

Kathleen Healy is a songwriter living on Cape Cod with her husband and three boys. She has performed locally both as a member of a folk quartet and as a solo performer, playing guitar and ukelele. Founded and directed by artist Joanne Mattera, now in conjunction with Truro Center for the Arts and its artist/director, Cherie Mittenthal, The International Encaustic Conference offers professional painters, sculptors and printmakers three days of lectures, demonstrations, panel discussions and book signings, as well as numerous opportunities to network and exhibit. The Conference attracts 250 participants, some from Massachusetts and the Cape, but many others from throughout the United States and Canada, Latin America, Europe, and as far away at Australia and New Zealand.
